Cultural Sex/Sexual Culture

An interdisciplinary performance playing with the capacity of drag, dance and music to help us think differently about sex(ual difference) and its role in our culture while drawing on masterworks of the Western Canon such as Bach’s Cello Suites and Frozen's Let it Go. Olympia Bukkakis traces a history of great drag queens including Bach, Medea, Elsa, and Rosa Luxemburg and the various ways in which their enthusiasm and excess drove history forward. Refusing to be pushed into the shadows of the archive, they insist 'We were, we are, we will be!'
